SUBJECT:
Approval to utilize up to $100,000.00 in Building Department Enterprise funds for the purpose of establishing an electrical connection for an emergency generator.
SUMMARY:
The Building Department is requesting the use of up to $100,000.00 in Building Department Enterprise funds to establish an electrical connection within the existing parking garage for a future generator to power the Building Department, located on the 3rd Floor of the Sunrise Center. This would enable the Building Department to provide services to the Fort Pierce community during periods of outages and after natural disasters such as hurricanes and tropical storms. The proposed location of the generator connection would be in the existing parking garage in close proximity to the main electrical room and near an open portion of the parking garage east wall.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Building Department recommends approval to use up to $100,000.00 in Building Department Enterprise funds for the purpose of establishing an electrical connection for an emergency generator.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve at this time.
