Emergency Repair of Downtown Trolley

SUBJECT:

Approval to award the contract for emergency replacement of engine in the Downtown Trolley to the lowest and most complete bidder, Palm Truck Centers, Inc. of Fort Pierce, Florida, in the amount of $17,417.81.

SUMMARY:

The engine in the trolley is in need of replacement and the vehicle is currently inoperable. The Trolley services our downtown every Saturday morning during the markets and is used frequently to give tours of our beautiful City as well as for private party rentals.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Public Works Department is recommending awarding the replacement of the engine to the lowest and most complete bidder, Palm Truck Centers, Inc. of Fort Pierce, Florida, in the amount of $17,417.81.

ALTERNATIVES:

Elect not to repair the trolley at this time.
