SUBJECT:

Approval of Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant application and the grantee match in the amount of $18,043.00 for construction of the Moore's Creek Fit Park.

SUMMARY:

Grant was awarded in September 2022 for the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) for the Moore's Creek Fit Park. The Moore's Creek Fit will be for purchasing and installing six outdoor fitness stations strategically placed along sections of the banks of Moore's Creek. The project will add to the existing trail. It will encourage and promote the use of the park as an exercise space where residents will have continual access to fitness and exercise equipment to aid in reversing significant health disparities currently plaguing the community and in promoting overall active lifestyles. 

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve and sign Grant Agreement.

Staff will proceed as recommended by the Commission.
