Approve award to Johnson-Davis, Incorporated for Fernandina Street and Porpoise Avenue Drainage repairs in the amount not to exceed $107,910.00

The drainage in the area surrounding Fernandina Street and Porpoise Avenue is an ongoing issue.The roadside swales in this area hold water for an extended period of time after rain events. Initial camera investigations of the roadway pipes showed blockage and dirt compaction.The proposed work will investigate the existing conditions, which include cleaning pipes, the baffle box at the intersection of Fernandina Street and Porpoise Avenue, roadway stormwater conveyance and outfall pipes and installation of check valves at outfalls. The proposed work will also assist the stormwater management design for the Granada Street (Porpoise Avenue to Gulfstream) roadway design.
 

Pursue investigation through the emergency contract. Johnson Davis performed initial investigations due to increased flooding and outfall backflow issues during recent rain events. In preparation for the upcoming storm season, work (check valve installations, pipe clean outs, etc)  is time sensitive to further mitigate flooding concerns.
