SUBJECT:

Staff requests the award of the Ohio Avenue (US 1 to 11th) Roadway Reconstruction project to the low bidder, PRP Construction, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $2,486,699.50.

SUMMARY:

A complete roadway reconstruction is proposed for Ohio Avenue between US 1 and 11th Street.  Improvements to be constructed include new potable water distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, storm drainage facilities, sidewalks, curb & gutter, new roadway, street lighting, and limited landscaping.  FPUA to reimburse costs associated with the water and sewer construction or $804,326.50.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends award of the construction contract to PRP Construction along with the approval of the execution of the contract by the City Attorney and the Mayor.

The initial construction cost of $2,486,699.50 shall be funded from Surtax proceeds, Account No. 114-1111-563-100, with a subsequent FPUA reimbursement in the amount of $804,326.50 to follow. Final Surtax funding of $1,682,373.00 after FPUA reimbursement.
