Applicant Sara Battles of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., is proposing the construction of 288,367 square-foot expansion of Independence Classical Academy. The school currently has a capacity of 510 students and consists of 30 classrooms, 60 parking stalls and a basketball court. The expansion will add approximately 8,000 square-feet of classrooms to hold an additional 176 students and increase the number of classrooms to 40. The new development will also consist of the relocation and extension of an existing gate, a new gate entrance, a new walkway, a playground and the expansion of the existing retention pond.
