SUBJECT:
Request approval of Cardno's proposal for Source Removal Activities for 2016 at the H.D. King Power Plant property.
SUMMARY:
The Engineering Department is requesting approval of Cardno's September 30, 2015 proposal for remediation work at the H.D. King property. This work will conclude the removal and disposal of the remaining identified soil contamination. The proposal is broken down into three sections; design for the replacement of the failing seawall along Moore's Creek, 2016 removal and disposal of contaminated soil, and FDEP final report.
The total cost of the proposal is $1,146,306, with $79,710 for the design of the seawall being funded by Fort Pierce Stormwater funds, $300,000 being funded by a future Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) through the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, and the balance $766,596 funded by the FPRA and reimbursed by Fort Pierce Utilities Authority.
