SUBJECT:
The City Manager requests approval for the appointment of Johnna Morris as the Director of Finance for the City of Fort Pierce in accordance with Article IV, Section 42 (i) of the City Charter.
SUMMARY:
With the retirement of Gloria Johnson on September 17, 2015, there was a vacancy for the position of the Director of Finance, The position was advertised and 4 applications were received. Of the 4 applicants, only 2 had actual governmental finance experience. Those 2 applicants were interviewed by a panel that consisted of the City Manager, Deputy City Manager and Director of Administrative Services.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the appointment of Johnna Morris as the Director of Finance
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.

FISCAL IMPACT:
