SUBJECT:

Waive interest, penalties, and administrative fees in the amount of $545.36 for lot clearing lien against 1105 Avenue D, Ft. Pierce, FL previously owned by Randall Reynolds, 2301 Juanita Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34946 and currently owned by Square Foot Holdings Inc., 3880 N A1A, Apt. 605, Ft. Pierce, FL 34949 contingent upon payment of $332.85. 

SUMMARY:

BACKGROUND: 
  • Square Foot Holdings, Inc. purchased this property through a tax deed sale. 
  • Excess funds from the tax sale was received September 21, 2015 by the City in the amount of $261.31.
  • If the Commission approves the reduction request, the balance due would be $71.54.
  • The new owners have kept the property maintained and have plans to rehabilitate the property for the betterment of the community. 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends waiving interest, penalties, and administrative fees of $545.36 leaving a balance due of $332.85.

Recommendation is based on:
  1. An excess funds from tax sale receipt was received in the amount of $261.31 leaving a balance of $71.54 due. 
  2. Michael Chee representing Square Foot Holdings, Inc. has been investing time and money into purchasing and improving local properties; getting them back to their original potential.

ALTERNATIVES:

Deny request.
Determine alternative amount.
