SUBJECT:

Approval of Specific Authorization No. 6 to RFQ 2019-027 for Professional Engineering Services for Kimley Horn & Associates, Inc for updates of the construction plans for 13th Street Improvements from Georgia Avenue to Orange Avenue in the amount of $69,840.00.

SUMMARY:

The 13th Street Improvement Project from Georgia Avenue to Orange Avenue was previously completed to the near final stage. The project was put on hold due to lack of funding. In anticipation of using Infrastructure Surtax Funding for the construction of these improvements, the plans need to be updated to the latest engineering standards. 

Kimley Horn provided the original design and has provided a proposal for the updates to the plans. The proposal includes a fee of $69,840.00 to complete the update and provide the City with a set of plans ready to advertise for construction.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approving Specific Authorization #6 for the updates to the 13th Street Improvement Project from Georgia Avenue to Orange Avenue.

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not approve the Specific Authorization.
