SUBJECT:

Resolution 24-R20 addressing a request for an extension to comply with the terms of the Quit Claim Deed for 133 N 10th Street.

SUMMARY:

City-owned surplus property located at 133 N 10th Street was sold to John D. Bess & Brenda V. Smith for $13,100.00 on March 29, 2022, with a deed restriction indicating that the grantee was required to commence the improvements on the property within twenty-four (24) months. 
The grantees were not able to meet that deadline and are requesting a 120-day extension to allow them to meet the deed requirement. 
Their contractor, United Construction Company of Florida, submitted their building permit and is in the final stages of approval. The contractor is prepared to begin construction within one week of receiving the building permit.  

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
