SUBJECT:

Request to waive interest, penalties, and administrative fees in the amount of $134,840.00 for code enforcement lien against 2020 S 3rd Street, Ft. Pierce, FL, Parcel ID 2415-801-0024-000-3, previously owned by Rachel Nazario, 2020 S 3rd Street, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 and currently owned by Cariann D. Martin, 374 NE Genessee Avenue, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983  $21,510.58.

SUMMARY:

BACKGROUND: Cariann Martin purchased the house in August of this year through a tax deed sale.  Excess funds from the tax sale was received by the City on October 27, 2015 in the amount of $21,510.58.  On receipt of the check we notified the new owners of the payment and the lien.  Over the next 10 days the new property owners complied all violations.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Code Enforcement Board heard the request on November 18 and recommends the City Commission accept the offer and reduce the lien to $21,510.58.

ALTERNATIVES:

  1. Deny the request.
  2. Make alternative recommendations.
