SUBJECT:

Resolution 24-R38 Amending the Rules of Procedure for Special Magistrate.

SUMMARY:

Amendments to the Rules of Procedure include:
  • Updates to match revisions in Ordinance No. 24-012 - Nuisances
    • Providing for hearings before the Special Magistrate.
    • Providing how fines, costs and liens are assessed.
    • Providing for reductions of fines, costs and liens that were assessed.
  • Updates to match revisions in Ordinance No. 24-013 - Code Enforcement
    • Expanding definitions.
    • Amending procedures for Special Magistrate proceedings.
    • Amending procedures for assessing fines and liens.
    • Amending procedures for reductions of fines and liens.
    • Clarifying procedures for initiating foreclosure of liens.

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt the Resolution as presented.

ALTERNATIVES:

Amend the Resolution.
