SUBJECT:
Execution of FDEP Grant Agreement No. S0696 providing funding in the amount of $462,000 for the construction and operation of a stormwater treatment system at the Veterans Memorial Park.
SUMMARY:
FDEP has agreed to provide funding in an amount of $462,000 which is to be applied towards the estimated $1,003,500 stormwater improvement cost proposed to be constructed at the Veterans Memorial Park. Improvements include pervious paver parking areas, pervious paver sidewalks, construction of a retention pond with fountains, bio-swales, floc-loc system, control structures and outfall improvements. These improvements will treat the re-directed run-off from the existing 44.1 acre drainage basin and will result in the reduction of suspended solids, phosphorous, nitrogen, organics and heavy metals in the basin's stormwater run-off discharging into the Indian River Lagoon.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends execution of the FDEP Agreement No. S0696.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not execute and abandon the proposed construction.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The FDEP Grant is a 46% match providing $462,000 towards the estimated $1,003,500 construction cost. The remaining $541,500 required funding will be encumbered from our Stormwater Management Utility Fund, Account No. 403-4300-538-3490.
