SUBJECT:
Approval of expenditure of Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) Contribution in the amount of $5,000.00 to Mustard Seed Ministries for their Sarah’s Kitchen pantry to provide hot meals to youth involved in the Fort Pierce Police Department’s Courageous Kids program.
SUMMARY:
The Fort Pierce Police Department respectfully requests that the City Commission authorize the use of $5,000 in proceeds from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) to be donated to Mustard Seed Ministries. Mustard Seed Ministries, through their Sarah’s Kitchen pantry, provides hot meals to youth involved in the Fort Pierce Police Department’s Courageous Kids program.
Courageous Kids is a community outreach initiative designed to build a positive relationship between local youth and law enforcement. Officers, along with community volunteers, provide a safe environment for our youth to interact and learn about the dangers of illegal drugs, participate in reading activities and play sports.
This request complies with the provisions set forth under subsection 5(a)(b) of Florida State Statute 932.7055.
