PULLED - NOT PROCEEDING.  Review of Change Order No. 14 - General Contractor Services, Replacement of Windows in the amount of $26,166 for the City of Fort Pierce Florida Highwaymen Museum renovation project.

During renovations at the City of Fort Pierce Florida Highwaymen Museum, a rear entrance window was damaged, prompting an evaluation of all existing impact-rated windows. The assessment determined that while the windows were originally rated for high impact, they are now considered a previous-generation product and may not offer optimal protection. Following a discussion with the FPRA Board Members on March 11, 2025, Change Order No. 14 was submitted to outline the cost of upgrading all windows to current high-wind impact-rated models, should the FPRA choose to proceed. The damaged window has been replaced.

This item was presented at the July 7, 2025 City Commission meeting due to ownership and funding interests. 

FPRA REDEVELOPMENT PLAN GOAL/POLICY

Goal 11: The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Area will become well known for its arts and cultural activities, amenities and events. POLICIES 11.1 The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency shall coordinate with local artists and artistic groups regarding events, activities and performances within the Community Redevelopment Area. 11.2 The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency shall continue to support the Sunrise and Lincoln Theaters, as well as other current and potential entertainment venues within the Redevelopment Area.

The existing Miami-Dade approved impact-rated windows meet all current code requirements and remain effective for local wind load conditions. Staff will proceed as directed by the FPRA.

The FPRA can deny the change order.
