SUBJECT:
Approval of Interlocal Funding Agreement with St. Lucie County for homeless initiatives in the amount of $125,000 for FY2025.
SUMMARY:
To support local efforts in addressing homelessness, St. Lucie County enlisted assistance from the municipal members of the St. Lucie Homeless Advisory Committee to advance initiatives that provide housing services for individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
In response, the City of Fort Pierce committed $125,000 in its FY2024 budget to fund staffing and operational expenses for the Housing HUB—a 24-bed shelter for adult men—and to expand services through the development of a Women’s Facility. Additional funding was allocated in the FY2025 budget.
This Interlocal Funding Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County establishes the framework for distributing the requested FY2025 funds.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Interlocal Funding Agreement by and between St. Lucie County and the City of Fort Pierce for homeless initiatives.
ALTERNATIVES:
Amend or deny the Interlocal Funding Agreement.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The City will provide the County with the sum of $125,000 to be remitted to the Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council to fund staffing as well as operational costs at the Housing HUB and to expand services by developing a Women’s Facility. The City shall remit payment to the County within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the agreement.
