SUBJECT:
Request for Authorization of Similar Use Recreational Vehicle (RV) Sales & Service - C-6, Marine Commercial Zoning District
SUMMARY:
- The Zoning District Use Table within City Code Section 22-22 Allowed Uses. does not contain or contemplate the proposed use of Recreational Vehicle (RV) Sales and Service.
- City Code Section 22-7. Authorization of similar use provides for the ability to permit in a particular zone a use not listed in Chapter 22 Zoning, provided the use is of the same general type as the uses permitted there by this chapter.
- The applicant has asserted that the use is most similar to boat sales and service establishments which are eligible for conditional use consideration in the C-6, Marine Commercial Zone.
- The Planning Board, at their April 8th, 2014 meeting, voted 9-1 to recommend approval of the request, further recommending the rental of RVs as similar to automobile rental.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the proposed similar use.

Denial of the proposed similar use.
