SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 25-024 Creating Chapter 103, Article XII Mandatory Structural Inspections for Condominium and Cooperative Buildings. FIRST READING
SUMMARY:
The Florida Legislature enacted mandatory structural inspections for condominium and cooperative buildings to ensure such buildings are safe for continued use. The proposed Ordinance adopts a timeframe to schedule and commence repairs following the receipt of a Phase Two Milestone Inspection Report, as required by Section 553.899(11), Florida Statutes.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of proposed Ordinance 25-024 Creating Chapter 103, Article XII "MANDATORY STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS FOR CONDOMINIUM AND COOPERATIVE BUILDINGS".
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve at this time.
