Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Citizens Oversight Committee Annual Report 2024

SUMMARY:

In November 2018, the citizens of St. Lucie County passed the Infrastructure Surtax referendum providing for improved roadways, more sidewalks, and better water quality. Resolution number 19-R06 established the City of Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Citizens Oversight Committee. The mission of the Committee is determine that all Surtax proceeds received by the City of Fort Pierce have been expended in a manner consistent with the requirements of Florida Statute 212.055 (2) and the ballot language approved by the voters. In addition, the committee reviews the expenditures and their regularly scheduled quarterly meetings to verify the funds are being used for projects consistent with the City's approved Surtax proceeds project list. 

Staff provides updates to the Committee and prepares this Annual Report for their review and approval.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends City Commission Acceptance of the Fort Pierce Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Committee Annual Report 2024.

ALTERNATIVES:

Staff to proceed as directed by the City Commission.
