- Submitted For:

SUBJECT:
Resolution 26-R30 approving a Grant Agreement with FDOT 456810-1 for 13th Street Reconstruction from Georgia Avenue to Orange Avenue in the City of Fort Pierce to receive up to $500,000 in grant funds.
SUMMARY:
The city of Fort Pierce submitted applications for the Local Transportation Project fund from the State of Florida. The FY2025-26 General Appropriations Act (GAA) Local Transportation Project CSFA 55.039 from the State of Florida awarded up to $500,000 for 13th Street from Georgia Avenue to Orange Avenue for the City of Fort Pierce. This agreement is needed to guarantee the $500,000 of GAA funds. Not signing this agreement will forfeit these funds.
The State has determined that it is in their best interest to require oversight of the project from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). FDOT has provided a State Funded Grant Agreement to be executed by the City for this project. Currently, there are minor design issues and reviews that need to take place before FDOT will approve the plans for construction advertisement. Staff is currently seeking a proposal from the consultant for this work.
Progression of this project is contingent on receiving additional Grant Funds (THUD) that staff is currently pursuing, and Infrastructure Surtax funding will be used to supplement the remaining construction costs. Total construction funding will be determined prior to contract award.
