Re
Informed Consent for Concurrent Representation
Submitted For:
Sara Hedges

SUBJECT:

Approval of Informed consent and waiver of potential conflict of interest for the representation of the City by C. Valentin Law.

SUMMARY:

The City Attorney's Office will be retaining C. Valentin Law to provide Assistant City Attorney services on a contract basis to the City. C. Valentin Law represents the St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court in tax deed matters. C. Valentin Law will not provide representation to the City in any tax deed matters. In an abundance of caution, a waiver or potential conflict is sought for the dual representation. This item approves C. Valentin Law's representation, provides informed consent for the representation, and knowingly waives any potential conflict of interest based on the dual representation pursuant to Rule 4-1.7 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
