SUBJECT:

Resolution 26-R40 approving an Interlocal Funding Agreement Between the City of Fort Pierce and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency for the Jaycee Park Improvement Project

SUMMARY:

The City Commission is requested to approve Resolution No.26-R40 and the associated Interlocal Funding Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) for the Jaycee Park Improvement Project.

Jaycee Park, located within the FPRA Redevelopment Area, serves as an important public recreational asset for residents and visitors. To improve the park's functionality, safety, and overall appearance, the proposed project includes the replacement of deteriorated pavilion roofs and the installation of a sail shade structure over the newly constructed playground.

These improvements support Goal 20 of the FPRA Redevelopment Plan, which encourages the enhancement of public and City-owned spaces through the addition and improvement of amenities that promote quality of life and recreational opportunities. The project will provide improved shade and comfort for park users, preserve existing park infrastructure, and enhance the overall visitor experience.

Under the proposed Interlocal Funding Agreement, the FPRA will provide funding for the project, and the City's Public Works Department will oversee the procurement, construction, and installation of the improvements. Approval of Resolution No. 26-R40 will authorize the execution of the Interlocal Funding Agreement and formalize the partnership between the City and the FPRA for implementation of the project.
