SUBJECT:
Approval of expenditure for an Increase of $25,349.50 in the Purchase Order (PO 260135) Amount for the Completion of Improvements to the JC Penney Parking Lot.
SUMMARY:
At the September 10, 2024 meeting, the FPRA Board approved an expenditure to The Paving Lady for construction improvements to the JC Penney parking lot. The original purchase order (PO #250067) was issued in the amount of $431,586.33.
During construction, field modifications were required, resulting in additional costs totaling $25,349.50. These additional costs are attributed to increased pricing for the dumpster enclosure gates and modifications to the curb lines at the traffic islands near the dumpster enclosures to improve maneuverability for Solid Waste trucks.
FPRA approved the Field Directive cost changes at their meeting on June 9, 2026. However since the original contract with The Paving Lady is under the City Commission, the City Commission must also approve of the Field Directive cost increase.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the additional costs and an increase to the current Purchase Order (PO 260135) of $25,349.50 to complete construction of the improvements to the JC Penney Parking lot.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve. The agreement with the Paving Lady would be ended and final payment would need to be made. Additional charges may still result and a new contract to complete the dumpster enclosure gates and curb line adjustments and pavement marking would need to be awarded
