Resolution 26-R46 - Interlocal Funding Agreement Between the City of Fort Pierce and the FPRA for Code Enforcement Officers
Submitted For:
Shyanne Harnage

SUBJECT:

Resolution 26-R46 - Interlocal Funding Agreement Between the City of Fort Pierce and the FPRA for Code Enforcement Officers in an Amount Not to Exceed $183,200.

SUMMARY:

Resolution 26-R46 authorizes the City of Fort Pierce to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) to implement a one year pilot program providing enhanced and targeted code enforcement services within the FPRA Redevelopment Area. Under the terms of the agreement, the FPRA will fund two dedicated Code Enforcement Officer positions, and the City’s Code Enforcement Division will hire, supervise, and administer the positions.

The enhanced enforcement program is intended to support redevelopment goals identified in the FPRA Redevelopment Plan by improving property maintenance, reducing blight, addressing chronic code violations, encouraging private reinvestment, and promoting a cleaner and safer environment within the Redevelopment Area. These additional officers will supplement the City’s baseline code enforcement services and will focus on proactive, redevelopment-driven enforcement activity.

The Interlocal Agreement outlines the responsibilities of both parties, establishes reporting expectations, and provides the administrative framework for the FPRA-funded program.
