SUBJECT:
Resolution 26-R47 and an Interlocal Funding Agreement Between the City of Fort Pierce and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency for the Sunrise Center Elevator Public Art Improvement Project
SUMMARY:
Resolution No.26-R47 authorizes the City to enter into an Interlocal Funding Agreement with the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) for the Sunrise Center Elevator Public Art Improvement Project. The project is intended to enhance the visual appearance of the Sunrise Center Parking Garage through the installation of large-scale public art while reinforcing the identity and vibrancy of the Downtown.
The proposed Sunrise Center Elevator Project includes the wrapping of three (3) interior elevator cabins, the wrapping of ten (10) exterior elevator doors located on the north and south sides of the parking garage, and the public art enhancements to the exterior elevator wall surfaces spanning five (5) floors of the south side of the parking structure. The project is intended to enhance the visual appearance of the Sunrise Center Parking Garage, create a welcoming gateway within the Downtown, and further the FPRA's ongoing efforts to expand public art throughout the community.
Under the agreement, the FPRA will manage the competitive procurement for the elevator wraps and the Call for Artists for the exterior elevator wall public art, including procurement, artist selection, contract administration, fabrication, installation, and project oversight. The City will provide site access, coordination, and support for implementation of the improvements.
The FPRA Board approved Resolution No.26-21 and Interlocal Agreement at its July 14 meeting.
