SUBJECT:
Approval of the City Commission's Letter of Support for the City of Fort Pierce's application to the 2027 United States Conference of Mayors Healthy & Sustainable Communities Grant Awards.
SUMMARY:
The Grants Administration Division requests approval of a City Commission Letter of Support for the City's application to the 2027 United States Conference of Mayors Healthy & Sustainable Communities Grant Awards.
The proposed project, Growing Together Fort Pierce: Community Wellness Garden & Learning Initiative, seeks $150,000 to revitalize and expand the existing Fort Pierce Community Garden into a community resource that promotes healthy living, nutrition education, environmental stewardship, and neighborhood engagement.
The Letter of Support will express the City Commission's collective endorsement of the project and its commitment to supporting the initiative should grant funding be awarded. The letter will be included as part of the City's grant application to be submitted August 14, 2026.
