Approval of Sole Source Procurement for Custom FleetPaths Application and Annual Monthly Fees from FleetPaths, Kalamazoo, MI, for an initial term of two years in an amount not to exceed $100,356 to assist in the efficiency optimization of residential and commercial solid waste routes.

The Public Works Department is seeking approval to spend up to $55,428.00 for the procurement of the Custom FleetPaths Application and Annual Monthly Fees from FleetPaths, located in Kalamazoo, MI. This amount includes the development of a custom application that features one SmartGPS portal and five StreetPaths portals, along with the setup of 75 NavPaths routes at a cost of $10,500.00. 

Additionally, the expenditure covers 144 monthly FleetPaths platform software licenses, billed annually at $26.00 per license, totaling $44,928.00. The service package includes complete access to FleetPaths and NavPaths services under a two-year agreement, with unlimited usage and users allowed.

This customized application will optimize residential and commercial solid waste routes to enhance division productivity and services.

FleetPaths is the exclusive Verizon Connect integration partner for these services, and Verizon Connect has confirmed that no other Market Integration Partner can provide the required functionality. As a result, FleetPaths is the only source capable of meeting the City's operational requirements.

 

Staff recommends that the City Commission determine that FleetPaths is the sole source provider of the required services, waive competitive source selection in accordance with Section 2-446(b) of the City Code, authorize the purchase of the FleetPaths software and related implementation services, and approve execution of the two-year Service Agreement with FleetPaths in an amount not to exceed $55,428.00.

Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
