SUBJECT:
Approval of Specific Authorization No. 1 in the amount of $842,060.43 to Bid No. 2023-044 Annual Street Resurfacing contract to The Paving Lady.
SUMMARY:
As part of the City's commitment to the Infrastructure Surtax goals, we have proposed resurfacing of nine (9) roadways within the City of Fort Pierce providing 2.23 miles of resurfacing.
In response to the City Attorney recommendations staff has confirmed that we are within the original contract cost limits ($1,536,705.65 remains of the original $4,179,259.69).
Additionally, Thermoplastic Standard White Solid, 6" was not included in the original bid document. This was added as a safety enhancement as white edge lines is recognized by the Federal Highway Administration as a Proven Safety Countermeasure.
