Update on King Plant Brownfield Cleanup - Deputy City Manager
SUMMARY:
Site remediation activities are continuing. Parcels 2 and 3 have received an unconditional soil rehabilitation completion order from FDEP. Cardno TBE has developed a schedule for site rehabilitation for parcel 1 to include TCRPC Revolviing Loan Funds. City of Fort Pierce and FPUA staff are working together to finalize this schedule that is anticipated to allow for potential redevelopment by Mid-2015.
Cardno TBE recently completed research on the property deeds for the parcels in the immediate area with regard to reverter clauses that may affect future development. Subsequent to the research written confirmation has been received from FDEP affirming the findings of the consultant that the lands subject to the reverter clauses are located easterly of the King Plant Site.
