SUBJECT:
Approval to submit and accept a continuation grant to fund the Restoring the Village program from the Department of Justice in the amount of $327,825.
SUMMARY:
| The Police Department received a Department of Justice award in 2014 in the amount of $203,478 to establish the Restoring the Village program. The FPPD has been invited to apply for a continuation of this award. This request is for approval to submit and accept a grant award from the Department of Justice for funding in the amount of $327,825. |
| The Police Department intends to use this funding to continue to fund and support the city's Restoring the Village program. Specifically, Department of Justice funds will cover Restoring the Village's personnel costs, as well as consultations, and equipment that are related to the Comprehensive Anti-Gang Initiative. This award does not require any matching of funds. |
RECOMMENDATION:
The recommendation is that this award be accepted.

The alternatives are to either decline or postpone the award.
