SUBJECT:
Approve award of the Melody Lane Parking Lot Reconstruction contract to the low bidder, Lynch Paving and Construction Company, Inc. in an amount equal to $213,657.60.
SUMMARY:
Of the four (4) respondents replying to the City's Request for Bids, Lynch Paving and Construction Company, Inc. submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $213,657.60. The proposed work to be completed under this construction contract includes the complete reconstruction of the existing parking lot located west of Melody Lane and south of St. Andrews. In addition to the parking lot construction, upgrades to the site include installation of stormwater facilities and site landscaping.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval

FISCAL IMPACT:
The current Interlocal Agreement between the City and the County requires the County to compensate the City $100,000 towards the cost of the project, which makes the remaining $113,657.60 the responsibility of the City. Upon review of the bid it has been determined that $82,499.00 of the construction improvements are stormwater related and therefore payment from SMU Revenue Account No. 403-4300-538-3490 is proposed. The remaining $31,158.60 will have to be garnered from the City's General Fund. The $31,158.60 will be paid from the budgeted capital amount allocation for street resurfacing gl account # 001-6000-513-64-10.
