SUBJECT:

Approval of Motion declaring certain properties to be surplus and authorizing staff to issue an RFP for the properties commonly known as the FPRA owned parcels at the HD King former site. 

SUMMARY:

In accordance with Sec. 163.380 of the Florida Statutes, staff is requesting that the FPRA governing board make a motion declaring the following properties as surplus for disposition. 

Staff anticipates that before the end of the calendar year, a Certificate indicating that the site has been fully remediated will be issued.  Once that notice has been received, Staff will proceed with an RFP marketing the site for sale as well as marketing it through our real estate partner Coldwell Banker. Tentatively, an RFP would be issued mid-January and run for 60 days to give maximum exposure. 

A few adjacent parcels are owned by the City and will be brought forward on a City Commission agenda. The FPRA owned parcels are generally bounded by AE Backus Ave to the north, Indian River Drive to the east, and Moore's Creek to the west (and shown as Parcels 1, 2 and 3 on the attachment)
