SUBJECT:
Ordinance 17-001 Amending Chapter 5, Article II regarding Contractors FIRST READING
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance provides clarity and consistency with Florida State Statutes 489 and 553 in respect to contractor licensing within the City of Fort Pierce. Included are updated trade classifications and definitions for licensed contractors, updated fee schedules, provisions to allow the streamlining of issuing reciprocal competency cards, and increased fees to unlicensed contractors to be consistent with the surrounding jurisdictions.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Commission adopt Ordinance 17-001 Chapter 5, Article II (Contractors) Revisions and Amendments.
ALTERNATIVES:
Leave the current Ordinance in place with no changes, or make changes to the current Ordinance.
