Indian Hills Recreation Area - Florida Shared-Use Nonmotorized Trail Network - Design Agreement

SUBJECT:

Approval of professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates for design of improvements to the recreational trails within the Indian Hills Recreation Area in the total amount of $55,400.00.

SUMMARY:

A request was made to Kimley-Horn and Associates, one of the City's continuing service providers, for a proposal for the   preparation of construction documents and specification package to support improving recreational trails at the Indian Hills Recreation Area.  Professional design documents will meet the requirements established by FDOT for the Sun Trail Network.  The Kimley-Horn firm was selected to ensure uniformity in design and to benefit from a scale of economy due to their previous design efforts on the project.

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve Specific Authorization No. 2 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, in the amount of $55,400.00.

ALTERNATIVES:

Move to another design professional on the City's continuing services list as determined by RFQ 2013-005 Professional Services Agreement.

FISCAL IMPACT:
