SUBJECT:
Request to reduce code enforcement lien in the amount of $66,840.00 against 808 S 12th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID # 2416-501-0038-000-6 - owned by Mario Douge', 808 S 12th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 to $300.00 payable in 60 days and to waive the $250.00 administration fee that may be imposed by the City Commission.
SUMMARY:
BACKGROUND:
- The requestor is the property owner and was responsible for the accumulation of fines.
- Due to Mrs. Douge' being seriously ill and requiring medical treatment they were out of town when the violation was cited by staff.
- A change of address was submitted to the post office; however, the post office does not forward government mail.
- Once the Douge's returned home and became aware of the violations, they quickly corrected the matter.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Special Magistrate heard Mr. Douge's request and recommends to the City Commission to reduce the lien to $300.00, to cover the basic administration costs incurred by the City, payable in 60 days.
Additionally Staff recommends the City Commission waive the Administrative Fee of $250 that may be imposed by the City Commission for reduction requests placed before them for consideration.
