- Submitted For:
- John Andrews
SUBJECT:
Request approval to piggyback Martin County's Contract for Marine Contracting Services, RFB #2017-2935, as awarded to Brothers' Construction, Inc. along with the subsequent approval of a $28,500 construction contract for the temporary repair of the Melody Lane seawall and sidewalk.
SUMMARY:
Staff has found there is a need to implement a continuing services contract which would cover marine contracting services relating to projects such as shoreline stabilization, seawall construction, fishing piers, bridge repairs, dredging, boat docks, etc. The contract terms would mirror Martin County's, 3-years plus two optional 1-year renewals and each project shall have a $200,000 expenditure limit with the exception of emergency repairs where no maximum limit shall exist; total maximum contract award over five (5) years shall not exceed $2,500,000. In addition, approval is requested to approve the Melody Lane seawall and sidewalk temporary construction repairs in the amount of $28,500. These repairs will provide a temporary fix in order to allow the public full utilization of the sidewalk and seawall damaged by Hurricane Irma while awaiting FEMA reimbursement.
The Purchasing Division has reviewed and investigated this request, and found all terms and conditions meet the piggyback requirements of the City of Fort Pierce.
