SUBJECT:
Reduce Code Enforcement Liens totaling $82,026.58 against 1104 Jasmine Avenue, owned by Frank Gentile and St. Lucie County Community Services, to $30.00 payable within 60 days.
SUMMARY:
Staff and the Special Magistrate recommends the City Commission reduce fines totaling $82,026.58 against 1104 Jasmine Avenue to $30.00 based upon the following:
1. Mr. Gentile is a disabled veteran.
2. Although it took several years to correct the violations, they were eventually complied.
3. St. Lucie County took the property for unpaid taxes, however, they allowed Mr. Gentile to continue living in the home.
4. The City is working with the St. Lucie County Community Services to return ownership of his home to Mr. Gentile.
