SUBJECT:
Waive interest and penalties in the amount of $3783.52 associated with the Demolition Lien against 321 N 15th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL. Property ID #2409-510-0032-000-0 owned by Marcos Calderon, % E. Clayton Yates, 426 Avenue A, Ft. Pierce, FL contingent upon payment of $3032.00 payable within 30 days.
SUMMARY:
Mr. Calderon purchased the property by Quit Claim Deed and was unaware of these issues at time of purchase. Mr. Calderon has cleaned up the property and has pulled all permits properly to do the work. The property is rented and Mr. Caleron intends to keep the property occupied and cared for. Mr. Calderon asks that the city reduce the fees back to hard costs which the city need to pay, so that he may afford to pay off this debt and continue to maintain the property. He intends to purchase title insurance on the property and needs all defects cleared.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends waiving the interest and penalties in the amount of $3783.52 leaving a balance of $3032.00 payable in 30 days.
Recommendation is based on the fact Mr. Calderon has been working diligently with the City to keep the property in compliance and rented out.
