Approval of sole source purchase to Southern Sewer Equipment Sales of Fort Pierce FL. in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00 for the purchase of one (1) 2017 Peterbilt Brush Hawg Model C Grapple Loader.

The Public Works Department purchased one (1) 2015 FORD F750 BRUSH HAWG GRAPPLE LOADER for residential waste collection and disposable purposes in August of 2015. This vehicle has proven to be very reliable and requiring only routine maintenance to operate thus far.

The opportunity to purchase one (1) 2017 Peterbilt Brush Hawg Model C Grapple loader has presented itself at a substantially reduced price. This vehicle has been used for demonstration purpose only and will be sold with the full factory warranty still intact. Southern Sewer Equipment Sales is the authorized Brush Hawg dealer for the state of Florida (excluding the Panhandle).

Daily operations and two hurricanes within a 12 month period have taken a toll on our current fleet. This vehicle will be inserted into the weekly route schedule and the oldest grapple truck will be placed in backup/standby status.
 

The Public Works Department recommends approving the purchase.
