SUBJECT:
Approval of Specific Authorization No. 5 in an amount not to exceed $20,865.00 (reimbursed by USDA NRCS) for professional engineering services relating to the canal stabilization of a portion of Canal No. 9 situated between Oleander Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard.
SUMMARY:
Engineering staff was recently notified that a request for Hurricane Irma disaster funding was approved by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Emergency Watershed Protection Program. This agreement will provide 75% reimbursement of construction costs and 100% technical assistance funding in an amount not to exceed $69,058 for costs associated with engineering, surveying, and project administration. The project design is proposed to include the canal bank stabilization of approximately 325 LF of canal southside of 1029 Trinidad Avenue and 1035 Trinidad Avenue. The stabilization will be achieved by the utilization of articulated closed cell block mats as indicated on the attached project detail sheet.
