SUBJECT:

Approval of the contract for Demolition, Asbestos, Lead Paint Abatement, in response to RFP No. 2019-009 to L.E.B. Demolition and Consulting Contractor in the amount of $100,000.00 for an initial term of two (2) years with the option for three (3) one-year renewals.

SUMMARY:

RFP No. 2019-009 was issued in January 2019 with a mandatory pre-proposal conference held on January, 25, 2019. Seven (7) contactors attended the meeting and two (2) contractors submitted completed proposals for consideration.

The selection committee evaluated each bid and considered the following: qualifications / experience; service plan; verification of availability of equipment; past contacts with the City and other governmental jurisdictions; cost proposal. Each bid was assigned a points total from 1 - 100 with a gross maximum of 300 points. Cross Construction received 249 points and L.E.B. Demolition and Consulting received 278 points.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approving the top bidder, L.E.B. Demolition and Consulting Contractors and entering into a two-year contract with three optional one-year extensions.

ALTERNATIVES:

Deny the recommendation.
