SUBJECT:
Authorize the Mayor to issue a Letter of Intent outlining an Economic Development Incentive Package to Dawn Foods to include ad valorem tax exemptions on a sliding scale and impact fee waivers in coordination with the Economic Development Council and St. Lucie County.
SUMMARY:
Dawn Foods is an international food distributor considering locating a new 55,000 square foot distribution center within the City of Fort Pierce at the Crossroads Business Center. The Economic Development team is working closely with the Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County and St. Lucie County staff to coordinate the expansion of this project. The company will make a capital investment of $8,400,000.00 dollars and create 30 full-time equivalent jobs with benefits jobs within three years with an average wage of $20.98.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Mayor to sign a letter of intent.
