Discussion requested by Mayor Hudson regarding the City's response to remarks made by a Palm Beach County Commissioner about the City of Fort Pierce.

At a recent meeting of the Palm Beach County Commission, there was a discussion item about whether Palm Beach County should remain in the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, or join a planning council to the south. A Palm Beach County Commissioner made remarks about Fort Pierce as "not having changed, and in fact, it had gone backwards." She also said that perhaps Fort Pierce wasn't a part of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council.  

The Mayor suggests that the response includes improvements and enhancements to the City in recent years, especially those accomplished with the assistance of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council. The response should include visuals to show the beauty of our City, and should be sent to every Palm Beach County Commissioner, because they all heard what was said about Fort Pierce. For the record, Mayor Hudson did not attend the meeting where the remarks were made, but she did watch the meeting video. 

Attached is a list provided by Michael Busha of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council that includes many of the projects that have helped Fort Pierce greatly over the years.
