SUBJECT:
Resolution No. 15-R02, authorizing the execution of a City Deed providing for the donation of a tract of land currently designated as City road right-of-way, identified as Tract "B" on the St. Lucie Crossroads plat to the State for use in the widening of Kings Highway (SR 713).
SUMMARY:
As part of the St. Lucie Crossroads development the developer donated a 50' x 494.4' (24,720 SF or 0.57 Acres) tract of land, identified as Tract "B" on the St. Lucie Crossroads plat, to be utilized as road right-of-way. Even though the City of Fort Pierce does not own, nor do they maintain, any roadways directly adjacent to said Tract "B" the land was dedicated to the City of Fort Pierce. Tract "B" is required to be deeded to the State as right-of-way as part of the upcoming construction project known as Kings Highway Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the right-of-way donation
ALTERNATIVES:
Deny the donation and proceed with negotiating a purchase price of the land
