SUBJECT:
Resolution No. 20-R62 recognizing the portion of North 29th Street between Orange Avenue and Avenue Q as "Fannie Lewis-Darden Street"
SUMMARY:
At the November 16, 2020 City Commission meeting, staff provided an update on the re-naming of North 29th Street from Orange Avenue to Avenue Q in recognition of Ms. Fannie Lewis-Darden, who is currently 101 years old. At the direction of the City Commission, staff gained input from residents through a press release published October 21, 2020, initiated a social media promotion, conducted a survey between October 21, 2020 and November 6, 2020, and provided a direct mailing to owners along North 29th Street. Over 360 responses were received with the majority in favor of a dual street name designation.
The proposed resolution was approved as to form and correctness by the City Attorney.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the adoption of Resolution No. 20-R62
