SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 23-026, Amending Chapter 26, Article II, Noise, Section 26-40 Sound Level Limitations, to restrict noise volume citywide. SECOND READING
SUMMARY:
The proposed revision to the Code of Ordinances Section 26-40 (Sound Level Limitations) to reduce the current limitation by 5 decibels citywide is recommended to provide consistency throughout the community. Doing so, will allow the residential receiving properties threshold to meet the 55 DBC that was discussed and requested by the City Commission during the February 21, 2023 City Commission meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Ordinance 23-026.

Adopt, deny, or modify Ordinance 23-026.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The funds will be used to purchase 6 sound level meters for the Police Department. The four patrol shifts and two crime suppression units will receive a sound meter to enhance their ability to respond to noise complaints.
