SUBJECT:
Approval to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and the Port St. Lucie Police Department as requested by the Fort Pierce Police Department to enter into a mutual aide agreement.
SUMMARY:
The Memorandum of Understanding gives the Fort Pierce Police Department the authority to enter into a combined mutual aide agreement for law enforcement services, which provide for rendering assistance in a law enforcement emergency. The police department has had an existing agreement with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and the Port St. Lucie Police Department in place since August 27, 2002.
RECOMMENDATION:
The police department recommends approval of the Memorandum of Understanding.
