SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance No. 17-027 amending Chapter 2-259 - Processing Citations. SECOND READING
SUMMARY:
The current ordinance requires that the City file a civil judgment for any unpaid parking citation. While this is impactful to property owners due to the spreading nature of the judgment, it does not have any impact on individuals or businesses that do not own property or do not reside within St. Lucie County.
Therefore, the proposed amendment replaces the civil judgment provision with a provision to forward unpaid citations to the County Clerk of Court for processing.
