SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance No. 17-029 amending Chapter 15 - Signs and Billboards. SECOND READING
SUMMARY:
On June 19, 2017, the City of Fort Pierce Commission adopted Ordinance 17-019 for the purpose of amending Chapter 15 - Signs and Billbords. Sec. 15-7 of the ordinance provided specific size restrictions for temporary signs based upon their zoning district. Due to the wide range of lot sizes throughout the R4, R4A and R5 zones, two size regulations are necessary based upon lot size.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends allowing signs up to 32 square feet on lots of 1 acre or more. Lots under 1 acre in size are restricted to signs up to 8 square feet.
